Bill Berry – Coming out of the same funny cool LA folk scene that features long-time legendary troubadours like Cindy Lee Berryhill and Dan Bern, Berry’s funny Americana-styled songs wouldn’t be out of place in a playlist with Nellie McKay, Roy Zimmerman, or Dave Frishberg. Berry is also the host of the long running LA show, Songwriter’s Square. His band features: Ed Tree, Mitch Forman, Brian Klock, Robert Riblett and Jim Kersey.
John Wicks and The Records came to prominence during the late ’70s early ’80s – as lead singer and songwriter for British band – The Records – a band he co-founded in 1978 together with lyricist and drummer Will Birch. Signed to Richard Branson’s Virgin Records, the band released 3 albums, the first of which – produced by the legendary Mutt Lange and his stablemate Tim Friese-Greene reached #41 on the U.S. Billboard chart during the Summer of ’79 – spawning the classic hit single – “Starry Eyes”. “Teenarama” followed, and the band were soon opening shows for the likes of The Cars, Robert Palmer, Elvis Costello, The Jam, and Joe Jackson, amongst others.
Carla Olson – Her latest album, “Have Harmony, Will Travel,” was released in 2013. Carla co-founded the all-girl punk band the Violators with Kathy Valentine; moved to Los Angeles, 1979; cofounded the Textones with Kathy Valentine; released a few singles with the Textones on IRS; appeared in Bob Dylan’s video “Sweetheart Like You,” 1983; released Midnight Mission with the Textones, 1984; So Rebellious a Lover with Gene Clark, 1987; Cedar Creek with the Textones, 1987; Carla Olson, 1988; Too Hot for Snakes with Mick Taylor, 1991; Within an Ace, 1993; Reap the Whirlwind, 1994; released The Ring of Truth, 2001.
Todd Wolfe – Todd Wolfe is known for his work with Sheryl Crow (five years as her lead guitarist in the ’90’s), as well as Carla Olson (The Textones); and Leslie West (Mountain), throughout a stellar career dating back to 1979. Todd has had his songs covered by artists as diverse as Stevie Nicks, Deborah Coleman Larry McCray, Shannon Curfman and country star Faith Hill. Todds ninth album, Long Road Back was released this spring in Europe and the U.K. and will be released in North America this fall.
